Taqwa Al Naqbi

Biography

Taqwa Alnaqbi completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the College of Fine Arts and Design, University of Sharjah in 2016. She is one of the participants in the SEAF programme in 2018. She works mostly with projects that incorporate handmade papers and mixed media.

Her works are inspired by personal experiences that come from her surroundings, which she commemorates through her art. Her group exhibitions include the 35th Annual Exhibition, Emirates Fine Arts Society, Sharjah Art Museum, Sharjah, UAE, 2018; Transition, Reconnecting Art, Menior Gallery, London, UK, 2017; Mind the Gap, Tashkeel, Dubai, UAE, 2017; Is Old Gold?, DUCTAC, Dubai, UAE, 2017; Art Nomad – Made in the Emirates, Berlin, Germany, 2016; ECU and UOS student exhibition, Greenville, United States of America, 2016; Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award, City Walk Dubai, Dubai, UAE, 2016; Exit 11, College of Fine Arts and Design, Sharjah, UAE, 2016; and Sharjah Heritage Museum, Sharjah, UAE, 2015.
